WORKac holds an unshakable lightness and polemical optimism as a means to move beyond the projected and towards the possible. Among ambitions to serve the development of future cities and embrace the reinvention of architecture in collaboration with other fields, WORKac’s projects create imaginative relationships between architecture, landscape and ecological systems. Sam Dufaux will share a scope of projects at the intersection of the natural, urban and rural imagining new scenarios for the future.

Originally hailing from Switzerland, where he is a licensed architect, Sam Dufaux has worked in Berlin, Bern, and New York. Today, his projects focus on sustainability and urbanism with New York-based WORKac, where he has worked since 2006. The firm has completed projects across the globe, including Russia, China, and Gabon.

Dufaux attended college in Switzerland and earned a master’s from Columbia University. He has worked on many of his firms’s built and public works projects through the DDC Design Excellence Program and with the School Construction Authority in New York. He is a fellow of the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart, and he has taught at Columbia University.
